Writer's Guidelines
WRITER'S GUIDELINES
We occasionally purchase captions and messages and will consider unsolicited verse submissions appropriate for our product line. Caddylak Graffix Writer's Guidelines page should help you with your submissions of Greeting Cards Captions, Christmas Cards Captions and T-Shirt Messages. These Writer's Guidelines will tell you exactly what we are looking for and who we want to sell products to.
If Caption or Message Is Selected, Author will receive:
- Payment of $25 per Caption or message with a full copyright release agreement.
- Name Credit (Author's name will be printed on Back of Card).
- No Credit on T-Shirts
- Twenty-five (25) Greeting Cards and/or One T-Shirt!
Who We Are: Caddylak Graffix is in the business of creating funny moments and bringing folks together with smiles and laughter using Funny Greeting Cards featuring Birthdays Cards, Christmas Cards, Get Well Cards, Holiday Cards, All Occasion Cards and showcases a large assortment of niche card categories including Sarcastic Cards, Golf Cards, Nautical Cards, Fishing Cards, Texas Cards, Armadillos Cards and more. Also, we are in the business of creating funny moments with Comical T-Shirts.
Talk It Up: Because Funny Greeting Cards and Funny Christmas Cards are sent from one person to another as a greeting and Comical T-Shirts are statements of ones philosophy or interest, they should read the way people really talk. When you write a line, imagine that you're speaking to a family member or friend. Then ask yourself, "Would I buy this Greeting Card to send to these people or wear this T-Shirt to display this message?" Slang and Colloquial Speech is acceptable and should be use when appropriate for Greeting Cards, Christmas Cards and T-Shirts.
Make It Funny: If you find yourself wondering whether a line is funny or not, read it to a few friends and see if they laugh. From a creative perspective you can go crazy, get zany and be wild! The more funnier, unique and uncommon the better!
You Don't Have To Draw
Funny Greeting Cards, Funny Christmas Cards and Comical T-Shirts depend on visual Cartoons but it is not necessary for you to draw but you should describe your concept of the image in words. Keep it short, simple, readable and understandable.
Card Caption Subjects: Funny Greeting Cards ideas need to be written for these occasions: Birthdays, Belated Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, Secretary's Day, Get Well, Retirement, Thank You, Anniversary, Congratulations, Just Because, Sarcastic, Thinking Of You or any other Caddylak Graffix Card Category.
T-Shirt Subjects: Comical T-Shirts ideas need to be written for any subject including Holidays, Politics, Aging, Drinking, Sex, Etc., but remember we do funny and edgy and not gross, dirty language or hard core porn.
Important Caption Writing Suggestions:
- View the Cards and T-Shirts on this web site that we sell to acquire a feel for what we are looking for!
- We are a Funny Greeting Cards Publishing Company and want our Greeting Cards to be Funny or Sarcastic! Please do not send us Sweet, cute or Serious Captions!
- We will publish zany, outrageous, naughty, edgy, sarcastic captions and messages with a big twist of humor but not vulgar or Gross! Keep Profanity to a minimum and be careful with your choices of bad words! Offensive material will not be considered.
- Your ideas must be original!
- Greeting Cards should express a sentiment as a part of the caption or blow it: Happy Birthday, Get Well Soon, Happy Anniversary, I Miss You, Congratulations, etc. Sarcastic cards are the exception!
- A Greeting Card or T-Shirt sends a message from the sender to the recipient. A me-to-you thing that should be considered in any caption or message. With greeting cards the purpose is to send wishes, remember a day or share in an experience whether negative or positive, happy or sad.
- Don't be afraid to take risks and push beyond greeting card stereotypes. What is the message you've always wanted to say to the world?
- You don't have to be politically correct but nothing racially derogatory, mean or hateful accepted!
- No Lengthy Poetry or Prose! Keep it short!
- No minimum submission policy! You can submit as many and as often as you want.
- It's important that our products appeal to a range of ages and interests. As a rule of thumb male and female ages 25 - 65! All careers, sports and hobby endeavors or acceptable.
- Use the following format to help us in the review process. Type or Print Carefully! Indicate (O) for outside of card caption and (I) inside of card. Make sure your mailing address, phone number and e-mail address are included in your submission. Also, make sure there is a description of what you think the art work should be!

Return Of Ideas: We do not return captions, Please do not include a self-addressed-stamped-envelope (SASE) inside your "submissions envelope". Your captions and messages will be kept on file for one year and then destroyed if not used.
Important: Caddylak Graffix buys all rights for accepted ideas.
You will be Required to sign a "Certificate of Originality" stating that you came up with the line.
Last But Not Least: If your idea is chosen we will contact you within 8-12 weeks. Unfortunately, we cannot give updates on the status of any particular submission. Therefore, if after 12 weeks, you do not hear from us, it is safe to assume that we were not able to use your submission. Writers are welcome to submit ideas for both our Greeting Cards and T-Shirts. Below are samples of cartoons that have been produced by Max Gathings and are ready to go to production when captions are developed. You can write captions for these images if you like but do not limit yourself to the below cartoons. We need funny captions for Greeting Cards and T-Shirts that Max Gathings hasn't created images for! The purpose of this page is to find and develop funny Captions for Greeting Cards and messages for T-Shirts. Please do not limit yourself trying to create captions for below image. We want to create new images for fresh and funny captions.
