In the beginning there was a Baby Max!

Max Gathings, known as "Caddylak Maxy", is an prolific Texas artist/cartoonist who specializes in funny Cartoons, Greeting Cards and T-Shists. Folks love his sarcastic wit and bounteous spirit of invention as he incessantly returns time and again to his popular and favorite niche subjects of Armadillos, Roadrunners, Jackalopes, Horny Toads, Texas Longhorns, Texans, Golfers, Fishermen, Cowboys and Cowgirls. His reflections of these characters are portrayed with zany humor and in an entertaining style and always speak of his fascination of the paradoxical absurdities of the naked ape. "My cartoons are like edible panties. They're not for everyone but many have a taste for the Offbeat, Irreverent and the Silly." -Says, Caddylak Maxy.

Caddylak Maxy, whose way of life has always been centered on passionate creativity, was born in “Cow Town” Fort Worth, Texas on June 27, 1944. Once in grade school, he struggled against mediocrity and was perceived as a poor student, seemingly indifferent with regards to academics. Finally an astute teacher became aware of the young boy's artistic talents and he began winning art scholarships to several art schools, museums and private tutorships where his natural creative gifts were encouraged and soon flourished. In college at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Minnesota he continued to win scholarships, awards and numerous accolades while majoring in painting with emphasis to graphic design.

Following his formal training, Caddylak Maxy pursued various endeavors incessantly blending art, design and entrepreneurship. He owned various art galleries and graphic design/specialty art advertising companies specializing in cartooning and the designing of Greeting Cards, Christmas Cards and T-Shirts. He has received national recognition for his satirical studies of critters, creatures and mankind and has been commissioned for specialized art projects by major corporations, art agencies, prominent decorators and art collectors throughout the United States. He has displayed his Paintings and Cartoons in Galleries, Art Shows, Gift and Trade Shows and has had many One Man Exhibitions. His cartoons and paintings have been reproduced in the media and commercially reproduced as Greeting cards, Christmas cards, prints, posters, calendars, T-Shirts and other textiles.

Today, with a large customer, fan and collector base, his artwork is universally recognized across the country. As a result of increasing demand for his Greeting Cards, Christmas Cards, Cartoons, Paintings, People Art, Prints and T-Shirts and because of his devotion to creativity, art and design, Caddylak Maxy has now conceived and developed Caddylak Graffix.
